Day 1 - AIRPORT / NEGOMBO

AIRPORT / NEGOMBO Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport, met by "triptosrilanka" representative and transfer to Hotel in Negombo. Overnight stay at Negombo.

Day 2 - NEGOMBO / SIGIRIYA / POLLONNARUWA / HABARANA

NEGOMBO / SIGIRIYA / POLLONNARUWA / HABARANA Breakfast at Hotel. Leave for Pollonnaruwa. En route climb the Lion Rock Fortress of Sigiriya. Next POLONNARUWA After the taking over of the Island by the Cholas of India who were growing in power and building an empire for them selves, it was decided by them to make Polonnaruwa the capital city. In the year 1055AD a brave and determined Sinhala king from the southern part of the Island overpowered the invaders and took over the capital that later fell into the hands of Magha a notorious prince from Kalinga of India who was more intent on looting than ruling. MINNERIYA NATIONAL PARK (OPTIONAL) Located between Habarana and Pollonnaruwa. the 8890 hectares of Minnierya National Park is an ideal eco tourism location in Sri Lanka. The park consists of mixed evergreen forest and scrub areas and is home to Sri Lanka favourites such as sambar deer, leopards and elephants. How ever the central feature of the park is the ancient Minneriya Tank (built in 03rd century AD by king Mahasena.

Day 3 - HABARANA / KANDY

HABARANA / KANDY reakfast at Hotel. Leave for Kandy. En route visit the Cave Temples of Dambulla, CAVE TEMPLE DAMBULLA In the 1st century B C a king of Anuradhapura fled the city due to a South Indian invasion and took refuge in the caves of Dambulla. On recapturing Anuradhapura after 13 years, the king converted the caves in to monastery and gifted it to the Buddhist monks. Next SPICE GARDEN Visit a spice garden at matale where spices and herbs used for Sri Lankan cuisine and medication are grown Spices of Sri Lanka attracted the early sea faring merchants who made the long voyages to purchase this precious merchandise. BOTANICAL GARDEN The Botanical Garden of Peradenya was a pleasure garden of a Kandyan King of the 16th Century and later made in to a Botanical Garden during the British regime. Next visit KANDY A ruled in Kandy up to 1815 although the rest of the island was under the British regime.

Day 4 - KANDY / PINNAWALA / AIRPORT

KANDY / PINNAWALA / AIRPORT Breakfast at Hotel. Leave for Nuwara Eliya. En-route visit the Elephant Orphanage. ELEPHANT ORPHANGE Pinnawala, Visit the Elephant Orphanage, the foster – home of elephants of different age and size feeding, bathing, playing together and even mating. These have been found injured or left abandoned in the wilderness. There are even little baby calves born in captivity. Proceed to Airport for Departure…………(Flight must be in the eveining)
